Based in Swansea


Current BioData Ltd is a joint venture with Swiss-Prot to develop the Targeted Proteins database (TPdb), a new set of resources for scientists and others involved in drug discovery.

We are seeking enthusiastic, well-organised individuals to join the editorial team as Editorial Analysts. You will be responsible for the data selection of daily literature-based and weekly patent-based updates of the database. These roles involve critically assessing the scientific content of papers and patents and the relevance of the research to protein entries in the Targeted Proteins database. You will also have to work closely with the internal editorial team to update the database and liaise with leading experts in the field to obtain comments on important new publications. You must have an undergraduate degree in either biochemistry or molecular biology. You will also require excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and good computer literacy. The successful candidate will need to be well organised and enjoy interacting with people.
