Work/life balancing act
A good balance between personal life and a thriving career is the key goal for students looking to find the ideal job after graduating.
Research conducted among more than 7,500 students by employer branding specialist Universum Communications found that 52 per cent of students rated a good work/life balance as important when choosing a career. This was followed by the chance to work abroad and the need to be continually challenged.
The employers rated by business as the ideal place to work for were PricewaterhouseCooopers, followed by HSBC. Humanities students chose the BBC and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as their favoured places, and engineering, science and IT students rated the BBC and the NHS as the two top organisations.
