For over 50 years, HSS has worked with big businesses, trade and DIY customers alike with over 90% of our turnover generated from business to business activity.
Our core business still focuses on the hire of quality tools and equipment but over the years we’ve grown, evolved and now there’s much more to us than that. We’ve introduced a clever range of services, support programmes and business propositions to help make life a little easier for our customers and to make sure we offer an unrivalled hire experience.
Today, we’ve a £180m+ turnover and an established nationwide network across almost 250 locations, including massive regional and local distribution centres. Our extensive range of equipment, plant, specialist kit and tools is robust, well maintained and always ready to use. And they are all provided by our highly knowledgeable team of technical and safety experts.
More than anything else, HSS is about people. Our Training Academy
Our people make us great – which is why we’re proud to support all of our colleagues with comprehensive training, learning and development programmes. In 2013, we took this to a whole new level with the launch of our brand new, purpose-built training academy in Reading, an industry-leading investment in training and development. Here, we develop the skills of our colleagues and provide all sales focused new starters with a comprehensive 5 week residential induction, covering everything from Health & Safety to Product Knowledge to Customer Service. They also receive on-the-job training, so they can develop the technical and behavioural skills they need to succeed in their role and flourish throughout their career.
