Company Profile
The National Forest Teaching School is an alliance of secondary, primary and special schools spanning a wide geographical area from Derby and Burton on Trent through to Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield.
John Taylor High School, the lead school, is situated in Barton under Needwood and in March 2014 was judged outstanding by Ofsted in all areas. We are proud of our School Direct Initial Teacher Training programme which grows year on year. We are an accredited SCITT but also work in partnership with three universities and in September 2015 we are aiming to recruit 50 trainees across both the primary and secondary phases.
School Direct is part of our recruitment process and last year over half of our trainees secured a job within our alliance. Our programmes are innovative in design and delivered by current outstanding practitioners. Applications to the National Forest Teaching School can be made through UCAS.
