About Teach English In China Ltd

At Teach English In China Ltd, our team of ex-foreign teachers has a passion for discovering China’s rich culture and a desire to help others experience it for themselves. Since 2005, we’ve organised over 1000 teaching placements. Our experience and knowledge of living and working in China enables us to deliver a high-quality service to all of our candidates.

Living and working in China is an experience that everyone should get the chance to do. We’ve teamed up with schools and organisations across China to provide a variety of programme options, giving you the chance to discover this fascinating country through the eyes of a local. To find your ideal programme, visit our detailed programme guides on our website.

Most of our teachers have no prior teaching experience or knowledge of Mandarin, so our programmes are designed to ensure that you leave for China feeling confident, prepared and supported.

Training and Support

With Teach English In China, you’ll benefit from the support of an experienced team before, during and after your placement.

Pre-departure, we offer visa application support, placement allocation services, access to our exclusive lesson plan library and networking events in London to meet up with other future teachers! Additionally, we organise an orientation day in London, where you will have a teacher training session, an introduction to Mandarin and you’ll meet other people who are on our programmes. This means you’ll head to China with a ready-built support network of people who are in the same boat.

If you attend our 2-week TEFL Training Camp in Beijing, you’ll have in-country support when you arrive to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Travel Opportunities

Working in a Chinese school will give you plenty of opportunities to travel! In state schools, there is usually a month-long paid holiday for Chinese New Year. Additionally, you’ll benefit from having other days off throughout the year.

Your multiple entry work visa will let you explore Asia, and the generous salaries offered by your school will mean you’ll easily be able to save money to travel to destinations such as Zhangjiajie, Shangri-La, Guilin, Mongolia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar!

Career progression

Teaching in China opens up a range of possibilities and leads people down interesting career paths. A large percentage of our alumni have done multiple years in China, either teaching or in a different industry. Others have returned to their home countries to begin exciting careers in finance, the public sector and management roles, to name a few.

We believe that our teachers are the foundation of our success and we attach great importance to providing each and every one of them, both past and present, the opportunity to expand their skill set, boost their CV and earn a bit of extra money by taking on part-time roles in writing and vlogging. We use our large and knowledgeable alumni community to help our teachers to network, find new opportunities and keep in touch with all things China!
